Misan Historic House
미산고택 · 味山故宅

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis house was originally built in 1650, the first year of King Hyojong's reign, when Park Se-ju, a descendant of Jeongnang-gong of the Hamyang Park clan, moved from Geumdang-gol to this village. It is said to have been relocated to its present site in 1825, the 25th year of King Sunjo, by Park Deuk-yeong, pen name Misan, a fifth-generation descendant of Park Se-ju. The building combines the main quarters (anchae) and the men's quarters (sarangchae) in an open square (ㅁ-shaped) layout. The anchae itself forms a U-shaped (ㄷ-shaped) plan, with a two-bay daecheong, a wooden-floored hall, at its centre and the main room, a side room, a kitchen and a kitchen annex arranged to either side. The plaque reading "Misanjae (味山齋)" above the floor of the sarangchae is said to have been written by Heungseon Daewongun during a visit, taking its wording from Park Deuk-yeong's pen name, Misan.
