These tombs stand on a ridge running east–west that embraces Sangchon Village in Ogya-ri from the north, distributed on either side of the old road to Namhaepo. There are twenty-eight in total, among which four jar tombs, two tombs of a later period, and a single pit have been found. The mounds are elongated and oval, the style typical of jar tombs in the Yeongsangang River basin, with a ditch encircling the base of each mound. Tomb No. 14, a single burial in which a pit was dug, one jar coffin placed inside, and earth then mounded over it, well illustrates the characteristics of a small-scale tomb. The Yeongam Ogya-ri tombs are estimated to have been built between the late 3rd century and the late 4th century.
