Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis seated Buddha image, in Eumnae-ri, Sunheung-myeon, Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, originally stood near the site of an old temple. Its head is missing, but overall it is in fairly good condition. The figure sits upright on a pedestal carved with inverted lotus petals, and its robe covers only the left shoulder. The right hand rests against the chest and the left hand rests on the knee. Judging from the fineness of the carving throughout, the statue is presumed to date from the Unified Silla period.
