Dasolsa Temple is said to have been founded under the name Yeongaksa by State Preceptor Yeongi during the reign of King Jijeung of Silla, and later renamed Dasolsa by State Preceptor Doseon. Geungnakjeon Hall was built by the Vinaya Master Jajang during the reign of Queen Seondeok of Silla. It was destroyed by fire during the Japanese invasions of 1592–98 and rebuilt in 1680, the sixth year of King Sukjong. It has a frontage of three bays and a depth of two bays, and its gable roof forms the shape of the Chinese character 人 (person) when viewed from the side. The bracket sets decorating and supporting the eaves are placed only above the columns, in the jusimpo (column-head bracket) style. The hall enshrines an image of Amitabha Buddha, and the arrangement of the windows, walls and balustrade-like low sills (meoreum) in the left and right bays of the front façade is distinctive.
