Dasolsa Temple is said to have been first built in 503, the fourth year of King Jijeung of Silla, under the name Yeongaksa by State Preceptor Yeongi, and later renamed Dasolsa by State Preceptor Doseon. Within the temple precincts stand Daeyangnu Pavilion along with Daeungjeon Hall, Eungjinjeon Hall and Geungnakjeon Hall. Eungjinjeon Hall, also called Nahanjeon Hall, was built in 636, the fifth year of Queen Seondeok of Silla, by the Vinaya Master Jajang. It burned down during the Japanese invasions of 1592–98 and was rebuilt in 1680, the sixth year of King Sukjong. The aged building was later repaired in 1930 by Manhae Han Yong-un, and has survived in that form to the present. It has a frontage of three bays and a depth of two bays, and its gable roof forms the shape of the Chinese character 人 (person) when viewed from the side. Inside, the ceiling is finished as a coffered lattice ceiling (umuljeoncheong) in the shape of the character 井 (well), concealing the roof structure above, and the hall enshrines sixteen arhats (nahan).
