Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe collected works of Yi Won-ik, pen name Ori, were first published as the original edition, Oriseonsaengjip, in 1691, the 17th year of King Sukjong, with the assistance of Yi Seo-u (1633–1709), the governor of Hamgyeong Province. Later, Yi Won-ik's great-great-grandson Yi Jon-do (1659–1745) compiled the original collection together with material gathered afterwards into a supplementary collection, along with a separate collection, a chronological biography and a conduct record forming an appendix. With the cooperation of Gim Yeon (b. 1655), the governor of Gyeongsang Province, this was carved onto woodblocks in 1705, the 31st year of King Sukjong, and the blocks were stored at Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy in Andong. This supplementary work is the Oriseonsaengsokjip.
