This hall commemorates the learning and virtue of three brothers of the Dongnae Jeong clan - Jeong Sa-su (1601-1647), Jeong Si-ung and Jeong Si-seung - scholars of the mid-Joseon period. Samudang Hall measures four kan across the front and two kan to the side, with a hip-and-gable roof that forms the shape of the character "eight" (八) when viewed from the side. In front stands Hwasujeong, a two-storey pavilion. The present building was relocated and rebuilt in 1987, having originally stood in an area slated to be submerged by the construction of Hapcheon Dam.
