Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pavilion was built in 1926 to honour Hyeoncho Kim Si-yong. It originally stood in Nopa-ri, 4 km from its present location, but was relocated here in 1988 after the construction of Hapcheon Dam caused the original site to be submerged. Hyeonsanjeong is a two-storey, L-shaped pavilion (in the form of the Korean consonant giyeok), measuring 5 kan across the front and 4 kan on the side. Its roof is a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof shaped like the Chinese character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side. In front of the pavilion stands a square garden with a main gate.
