This house is said to have been built by Yi Jae-yeong (1787–1849), a twenty-eighth-generation descendant of the Gammugong branch of the Byeokjin Yi clan. It was originally a six-kan thatched house, which Yi Yeong-gi dismantled in 1947 and rebuilt in its present form, adding a separate gatehouse. The shrine was newly built in 1984, and the original shrine building was converted into a naesammun, an inner three-bay gate. The complex consists of the main house (anchae), the men's quarters (sarangchae), the gatehouse, the shrine, and the naesammun. The main house measures five kan across the front and five kan along the side, a kan being the bay between structural columns, with a gabled roof that, seen from the side, forms the shape of the character 人, and a daecheong, a wooden-floored central hall, at its centre. The sarangchae measures four kan across the front and two kan along the side; the front four kan are floored like a toenmaru, a narrow wooden veranda, while the rear four kan are entirely floored with ondol, a heated floor. The middle two kan project slightly forward and are arranged as a single open tongkanbang, a room spanning several bays.
