A yoji, or kiln site, refers to a place where kilns were built to fire porcelain, roof tiles or other vessels. The Hwamae-dong white porcelain kiln site is presumed to have operated around the 15th–16th centuries, and consists of two or three kiln sites spread over a wide area. Porcelain fragments are scattered within a diameter of 10–20 m, and many lumps of fire-baked clay have also been found. Dishes and bowls in dark blue-grey, pale blue and white have been found. The vessels are generally low in shape, with thin foot rings that are relatively wide in diameter for the size of the vessel. Both high- and low-quality porcelain have been found.
