Hyangcheonsa Temple is a branch temple of Sudeoksa Temple, founded by the Baekje-period monk Uigak. Within the temple grounds, about 70 metres from the Geungnakjeon Hall, stands the Cheonbuljeon Hall, a Buddhist hall built on a foundation of natural stones. It measures four bays across the front and three bays along the side, with a gabled roof that, seen from the side, forms the shape of the character 人 (person). The bracket sets supporting the roof are arranged in the dapo style, with brackets placed both above the columns and between them. The whole of the front façade is fitted with hinged doors, and the foundation stones are rough, unshaped natural stones. Inside the hall 1,515 Buddha images are currently enshrined; most of the smaller images are made of plaster, while some of the larger ones are of stone. The building gives an overall impression of simplicity, and its construction technique suggests a date in the mid-Joseon period or later.
