This is the place where Wolgan Yi Jeon (1558–1648) taught Confucian scholarship in his later years. Chehwa means 'brotherly affection,' symbolising the close bond between the two brothers, Yi Jeon and Changseok. Chehwadang Hall was built by Wolgan's third son, Sin-gyu. It measures four kan across the front and two kan along the side, with a hip-and-gable roof (paljak) shaped like the character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side. The central two kan form a wooden-floored room (maru), with a heated ondol room of one kan on each side. On the wall behind the main hall's raised floor hang a record of the hall's reconstruction, written in 1941, and a ridge-beam record of its relocation from Myoan. As a mid-Joseon-period building, it retains its original appearance relatively well.
