This stone marker served as a boundary milestone (ijeongpyoseok) between Jinju (formerly Jinyang County) and Sacheon (formerly Sacheon County), consisting of a rectangular natural stone that has been only lightly shaped. According to legend, Grandmother Magu of Cheontaesan Mountain, intending to spin thread, once brought three rocks with her: carrying one on her head, leaning on one as a walking stick, and holding one in her skirt. She discarded two of them in the forest along the way, and set up only the rock she had carried in her skirt at its present location.
