The Cheongsong Chuhyeondong Bak Clan Filial Piety Pavilion was erected to honour and publicise the filial conduct of Bak Chung-guk, son of Bak Deuk-chun. Bak Chung-guk, the filial son, was gentle in nature, deeply devoted to his siblings, and utterly devoted to his parents. When his parents were ill he often skipped meals and went without sleep in order to nurse them, at times collapsing from exhaustion, yet even then he worried only about his parents. Together with his younger brothers Yong-guk, Jun-guk and Heung-guk, he showed the utmost filial devotion to his father, and the state, praising his conduct, erected this pavilion in 1891, the 28th year of Emperor Gojong of Joseon, so that it might be widely emulated. The pavilion is a single bay in size, with a gable roof that, seen from the side, resembles the shape of the character 人 (person). It was relocated in 1976 during road-widening work, and moved again to its present site in 1989 because of the construction of Imha Dam.
