This old house stands in Seochon, west of Miryang Hyanggyo, the local Confucian school. Built in 1887, the 24th year of Emperor Gojong of Joseon, it consists of a main house, a men's quarters, a storehouse, and a gate wing. The main house measures seven kan across the front and two kan deep, with a hipped-and-gabled roof that, seen from the side, resembles the Chinese character "eight" (八). It has narrow verandah bays at front and back, and its interior has been considerably altered. The men's quarters is four kan across the front and one kan deep, also with a hipped-and-gabled roof. It originally had a partial verandah bay at the rear, but this was later extended into a kitchen at the side of the men's room, and a further roof section was added. The middle men's quarters is four kan across the front and one kan deep, with a gabled roof that, seen from the side, resembles the character "person" (人); it was later extended by one kan so that its roof now joins that of the men's quarters. There is also a gate house measuring three kan by one kan and a storehouse measuring nine kan across the front and three kan deep. The placing of the storehouse within the inner courtyard in particular suggests that working tasks were carried out there.
