This is the head house of the Munhwa Yu clan. It is the birthplace of Jeonggan-gong, U Seok-heon, and also the place where Song Gang Jeong Cheol was married. The exact date of construction is unknown, but according to records it was extensively rebuilt in 1647, the twenty-fifth year of King Injo's reign, and the structure of the main house was altered again in 1919. The main house originally had a U-shaped plan, but today it has a single straight row, arranged from left to right as a kitchen, a main room, a two-bay daecheong (a wooden-floored hall open on one side), and a room. The roof is a paljak, or hip-and-gable, roof, which forms the shape of the Chinese character for "eight" (八) when seen from the side. To the northeast of the main house stands a family shrine, clearly showing the layout characteristic of a yangban household of the Joseon period.
