This is a lecture hall (ganghakso) established in 1913 by No Sang-jik (pen name Soneul, 1854–1931) after he returned from exile in Manchuria, so that he could write and train the next generation of scholars. In his later years, as Soneul's learning and virtue grew ever more renowned, the children of the Confucian literati (sarim) gathered here in great numbers, and he trained more than a thousand students in all; he also wrote many works here, including the Soneuljip, his collected writings.
