Ilraksa Temple Three-story Stone Pagoda
일락사삼층석탑 · 日樂寺三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pagoda stands in front of Daejeokgwangjeon Hall at Ilraksa Temple, with a three-story body raised on a two-tier foundation. The upper tier of the foundation has corner pillars carved into each of its four faces, and above it the roof-shaped capstone has a sloping upper surface, though its two corners are badly broken. In the body of the pagoda, the first-story body stone is almost the same size as the foundation beneath it, the second-story body stone is considerably smaller, and the third-story body stone is missing. Above the third-story roof stone remains a low base that once supported a finial, on top of which a rough stone has been placed in place of the finial itself. Although its condition is poor, with part of the foundation broken and the third-story body stone lost, the pagoda's original form appears to have had a restrained elegance. It is presumed to be a work of the Goryeo period.
