This is the ancestral shrine of the Yeongdeok branch of the Pyeongsan Sin clan, where memorial rites are held for three forebears: Sin Hwi, an early-Joseon official; his grandson Sin Jong-bu; and his great-great-grandson Sin Gyu-nyeon. Sin Hwi served as Jubu of the Jeonsangseo office under King Seongjong, Sin Jong-bu served as Magistrate of Hanseong under King Jungjong, and Sin Gyu-nyeon died a martyr's death while active as a righteous army commander during the Imjin War. The study hall, Sujeongseosa, stands at the centre in a straight line, flanked on either side by rooms. It was originally established to honour these three men under the name Sedeoksa, but was closed during the reign of Emperor Gojong under Heungseon Daewongun's order abolishing private Confucian academies. It is now used only as a space for holding ancestral rites in front of the tomb.
