This is a Joseon-period bell, 76cm high with a mouth diameter of 52cm, made for use during Buddhist services held in the main hall. An inscription records that it was cast in the 24th year of King Yeongjo (1748), and the names of the donors who funded its casting are recorded in a band running around the lower part of the bell. It is said that during the Japanese colonial period the bell was seized by the police, but was eventually recovered through the determination of the temple's abbot at the time, the monk Chwiam.
