Woljeon Village backs onto hills some 200m above sea level to the south-west, and in front of the village lies a broad alluvial plain formed along the Jeungamcheon Stream, a tributary of the Yeongsangang River. The Seongwol-ri Woljeon Tomb stands amid paddy fields in front of the village; its rectangular and circular mounds are joined together, giving it a form similar to a janggobun, a tomb combining a square and a round mound in a shape resembling a long drum. The tomb is thought to have lain on the eastern slope of a low, flat-topped hill running north, with the rectangular section towards the ridge and the circular section lower down the slope. Pine trees grow on the circular mound, which has a flat area at its centre containing a single modern grave. The ground in front of this grave is slightly sunken, and stones are exposed there; whether this is connected with the grave's construction or has some other cause is unclear, but it is worth noting. The rectangular mound is now cultivated as a field. The long axis of the mounds runs east–west, with the circular section at the lower, eastern end of the slope. The combined mounds measure 38m in total length, with an estimated diameter of about 18m for the circular part, an estimated width of 15m for the rectangular part, and a height of 2.5–3.0m.
