This is the tomb of Hong Ui and his son Hong Ho, of the Namyang Hong clan, built during the Goryeo dynasty. The mound is faced with stone to a height of 50cm, with five stones set upright at the front and seven at the sides. The gravestone, altar and stone figure of a civil official were installed in 1726; the altar in particular is delicately carved with lotus flowers and petals. The Goryeo-period tomb at Gyewon-ri, Jinju, was built around 970 CE, making it the oldest Goryeo tomb known anywhere in the country.
