Yupyeong-ri Bugwi-dong Ancient Tomb, Jangseong
장성 유평리 부귀동 고분 · 長城 柳平里 夫貴洞 古墳

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krA mountain ridge extending southeast from Taecheongsan Mountain (593.3m above sea level) forms a peak at 250m, then drops sharply to form a long ridge running northwest to southeast at an elevation of 50–80m. Bugwidong lies in the hill area formed at the upper reaches of Gomakcheon Stream, with the village set against the southwest side of the hill. The ridge, descending from northwest to southeast, rises slightly again behind the village to form a summit, where the tomb stands. As the surrounding land has been farmed, the southeastern edge of the mound has been cut away to a height of 3–4m, and a wide, irregular pit left by looters has formed at its top. On the west side of the pit a flat stone, thought to be the ceiling stone of the stone chamber, is exposed, and stone material is exposed on the east side of the damaged mound, suggesting the entrance opened to the east. The mound is circular in plan. Its present scale is 28m in diameter and 4.5m in height, but taking into account the old ground surface revealed where the mound has been damaged, its original scale is estimated at about 24m in diameter and 3.6m in height. A flat area roughly 10m across once existed at the top of the mound but has been completely destroyed by looting.
