This standing stone Buddha is located in Asan-ri, Yeongin-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, carved from granite to a height of 265 cm and a width of 87 cm. There are traces of cement repair on the neck; according to tradition, the head was severed during the Sino-Japanese War and left untouched until it was repaired in 1945. The head wears a crown, and the oval face is depicted with plump cheeks. The figure has a dignified build, and the robe covers only the left shoulder; the folds of the robe are not clearly visible owing to erosion, but traces of drapery folds can be seen below the abdomen. A round bead rests on the palm of the left hand, while the right hand is raised in front of the right side of the chest with the thumb and middle finger touching. Judging from the carving technique, the form of the crown, and the facial features, the statue is presumed to have been made during the Goryeo period.
