This pagoda stands in front of the Yeongsanjeon Hall of Manilsa Temple. It originally stood in front of the main worship hall but was moved to its present location when that hall was rebuilt. On a broad base stone, a single-tier platform (gidan) was built, with the five-storey body (tapsin) set on top in sequence; the body stone of the first storey appears to have been placed upside down, perhaps by mistake when it was moved. On each of the four sides of the platform, corner pillars were carved, with shallow ansang (niche-shaped decorative motifs) carved between them, and the underside of the top stone is decorated with a lotus design. Each body stone of the pagoda, like the platform, has carved corner pillars at its edges, and the body stone of the fifth storey in particular bears figures of the Buddha carved in relief on all four sides. The roof stones each have two-tiered supports on their undersides, and the eaves form a gentle curve. At the top, only the square support stone that once held the finial remains. Judging from the carving style of the platform and roof stones and the overall composition, the pagoda is presumed to have been built in the early Goryeo period.
