Woljeongnichimnyujeong Pavilion
월정리침류정 · 月亭里枕流亭

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krWoljeongnichimnyujeong Pavilion was built by Kim Seong-jin (1558–1634), a scholar of the mid-Joseon period, so that he could devote himself to training younger students. Kim Seong-jin was highly learned and deeply filial, and for the benefit of later scholars he had the woodblocks of his collected writings carved and the books printed and widely circulated. The exact date the building was erected is unknown, but it is presumed to have been sometime in the 1600s, after the Japanese invasions of 1592. It stands on a low hill beside a valley, and together with the large trees around it, provides valuable material for the study of garden architecture.
