Yeotaekjeong Pavilion, Gangjin
강진 여택정 · 康津 麗澤亭

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krYeotaekjeong Pavilion, in Gangjin, is a two-storey structure with five kan across the front and two kan to the side; its plan and structure take a form distinct from other pavilions in the region. The central two kan are entirely fitted out as storage space (gwang), while the two flanking sections form separate, open floor platforms (numaru), each open on three sides with no wall at all. The two floor platforms differ from each other in scale and in the structural members used. Together with Ganghoejeong Pavilion, Yeotaekjeong served as a central space of the local community, and it preserves material on the organisation and operation of rural communities in the late Joseon period, giving it considerable research value for local and architectural history.
