Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis stone water vessel remains at the former site of Gaetaesa Temple, where it was used to hold water for the monks. It appears to have served as a water tank in the temple kitchen, and is currently preserved buried in the ground beneath a village lane that marks the temple's old site. Known for its great size, it is, together with the temple's iron cauldron (Gaetaesa Cheolhwak) with a circumference of 9.4 m, an artefact that allows us to gauge the scale of the temple at the time. As it remains in its original location, it is also valuable material for examining the history of the Gaetaesa temple site.
