This is a ritual house dedicated to the memorial rites of Bak Mun-su (1691–1756), who left behind many anecdotes as a secret royal inspector (amhaeng-eosa). Bak Mun-su was a civil official of the late Joseon period who passed the civil service examination in 1723, the third year of King Gyeongjong, and rose as high as Byeongjo Jeongnang (Second Secretary of the Ministry of War), before being dismissed in 1724 when the Noron faction took power. When the Soron faction came to power in 1727, he was reappointed and, serving as secret royal inspector for Yeongnam and for Chungcheong Province, exposed corrupt officials. He later rose through the post of Deputy Minister of Taxation to Minister of War and finally to Chief State Councillor. This building was erected in 1932. Its main house (anchae) is L-shaped in plan, with a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof shaped like the Chinese character 八 ("eight") when viewed from the side. The sarangchae (men's quarters) has five bays and a single-row (一-shaped) floor plan. Inside the ritual house are kept relics and a portrait used by Bak Mun-su, as well as documents including the Subujeonggi written by his grandson Bak Yeong-bo and a biography of Bak Mun-su. In 1990 a new ritual house was built on the site of the original.
