Wonpae of Unheungsa Temple, Goseong
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

The wonpae of Unheungsa Temple are votive tablets praying for the long life of the royal family, consisting of three pieces in all: a tablet for the king, one for the queen, and one for the crown prince. Made in the late Joseon period, the king's tablet is carved with a yellow dragon, the queen's tablet with a phoenix and cloud design, and the crown prince's tablet with a dragon-and-bird design. The delicacy of the carving and the skill and decorative quality of the finely engraved patterns offer a glimpse of the excellence of late Joseon Buddhist art.
