This is the memorial altar and ritual house (jesil) in the village where Jeon Seop, founding ancestor of the Cheonan Jeon clan, once lived. Jeon Seop lived around 18 BC and made great contributions to the founding of Baekje. He was later invested as Hwanseong-gun and settled in the Pungse-myeon area of Cheonan-gun, and his descendants, who lived on here, became the Cheonan Jeon clan. Jeon Seop's actual tomb no longer survives, and a memorial altar (myodan) has been built in its place. The ritual house stands in front of the altar and measures three bays across the front and two bays deep, with a hipped-and-gabled roof that forms the shape of the Chinese character for "eight" (八) when viewed from the side. At the entrance to the ritual house stands Jeon Seop's sindobi - a stele inscribed with the lifetime achievements of a king or high official and erected near a tomb - and the area around the altar boasts fine scenery formed by a forest of old pine trees.
