This shrine enshrines the spirit tablets of seven members of the Pyeongsan Shin clan, centred on the Goryeo general Shin Sung-gyeom; it was originally a clan shrine called Sedeoksa. Shin Sung-gyeom (d. 927) was a man of great stature and outstanding martial skill who rendered great service in helping Wang Geon found Goryeo. In the 10th year of King Taejo's reign (927), when Wang Geon was surrounded by Gyeon Hwon of Later Baekje at the Battle of Gongsan near Daegu and his life was in danger, Shin Sung-gyeom put on Wang Geon's clothes and fought in his place, dying in the battle. Sedeoksa was first built to enshrine him in the 1st year of King Cheoljong of Joseon (1850), but it was demolished under Heungseon Daewongun's order abolishing private Confucian academies, before being rebuilt in 1918 under the new name Yulrisa Temple. Yulrisa is three bays across the front and one bay deep, with a gable roof that forms the shape of the Chinese character for "person" (人) when viewed from the side. Inside are enshrined the spirit tablets of Shin Sung-gyeom and six others, together with a portrait of Shin Sung-gyeom. Also remaining on the site are an inner gate, a lecture hall, and the Yulli Sedeoksa Site Monument.
