This is a tile-roofed building with a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof, four kan (a traditional bay unit of building width) wide at the front and one-and-a-half kan deep at the side. The gate house is three kan wide and one kan deep, a wooden, tile-roofed sotdaemun, a central gate raised higher than the walls flanking it. It retains the form of Yeongcheonsa, first built in 1744. The original construction techniques appear to have been faithfully applied, and for a building of this scale the timber members and joinery leave nothing to be desired; it is also well preserved, making it valuable academic material on the architectural style of the late Joseon period.
