This is a seated wooden statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva enshrined at Daeunam Hermitage in Cheongdo-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, together with the votive objects found inside it. Said to have been moved here from Banryongsa Temple when Daeunam Hermitage was rebuilt in the 1930s, the statue is carved of wood and thickly gilded. A record among the votive objects states that the statue was made at Banryongsa Temple in Jain-hyeon in 1654, the eleventh year of the Shunzhi reign. The votive objects include four copies of the Lotus Sutra, the Śūraṅgama Sūtra, the Sutra of the Fundamental Vows of Bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha, a dedicatory prayer text, and the Six-Syllable Great Illumination Mantra.
