Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the shrine of the Suan Kim clan in Yeongdeok. It was built in 1804, the fourth year of King Sunjo, by descendants in memory of Kim Deok-yu (1694–1767), a mid-Joseon Confucian scholar who helped many people in need. Its structure is a square, courtyard-style (ㅁ-shaped) house commonly found in the Yeongdeok region, with the sarangchae (men's quarters) on the left and a gatehouse room and lower room on the right, centred on the middle gate. At the rear is a room not used for daily living but reserved for ancestral rites and similar functions. It was repaired in 1980 and is currently in good condition; with a front measuring six kan, it presents quite an imposing appearance when viewed from the front.
