This is a stone standing image of Maitreya standing by the roadside in Ono-ri, Jangcheon-myeon, Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It is 220 cm tall with a shoulder width of 95 cm. The head is rather large in proportion to the body, and the folds of the robe draped over it are rendered in a formalised, stylised manner. The halo (gwangbae), which represents the light radiating from the whole body of the Buddha, shows only the halo around the head; the halo around the body has been omitted. It is presumed to have been made in the mid-Goryeo period.
