The Dolmen in Cheonnae-ri, Geumsan comprises twelve stones in all, overlooking the Cheonnae River. The village calls these dolmens Palseon Bawi (Rocks of the Eight Immortals) and regards them as sacred, never disturbing them carelessly. The surrounding site is where the waters of the Geumgang, flowing down from Yonghwa-ri, curve around this hill in an S-shape before passing on towards Yeongdong in North Chungcheong Province, and where the Bonghwangcheon Stream, flowing out from Geumsan-eup, meets the Cheonnaecheon Stream. The dolmens of Cheonnae-ri are of the capstone type or the table type (the two principal forms of dolmen construction), with the capstones rectangular or irregular in shape and the group extending over a size of around 200 m. Residents say that in the past, stone daggers, stone arrowheads and red pottery, among other things, were excavated from the site where the dolmens stand.
