Daewonjeongsa Temple, Geumsan
금산 대원정사 · 錦山 大圓精舍

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis temple was built near Eopilgak, a hall enshrining royal calligraphy, in Hasin-ri, Geumseong-myeon. It is said that during the Japanese colonial period it was moved to a site about 100 m from its present location, and then in 1982 it was moved back and rebuilt on its current site. The building measures three kan (bays) across the front and two kan deep. Its roof is a hip-and-gable roof which, seen from the side, takes the shape of the Chinese character for "eight" (八). The bracket sets decorating and supporting the roof eaves are in the multi-cluster style, set both atop the columns and between them. The interior forms a single bay, its floor laid with a wooden-plank umulmaru floor, and at the centre of the rear a Buddhist altar has been built to enshrine a statue of Vairocana Buddha. This statue is said to have been brought from Sinansa Temple, below Guksabong Peak on Sineumsan Mountain.
