This is the tomb of General Im Deuk-ui, a military official of the mid-Joseon period. His courtesy name was Jabang; he was a native of Pyeongtaek, the second son of Magistrate Im Sik, and the younger brother of Im Deuk-in. In 1596, the twenty-ninth year of King Seonjo, when Yi Mong-hak raised a rebellion at Hongsan in Chungcheong Province, seized the neighbouring towns of Imcheon, Jeongsan, Cheongyang and Daeheung, and threatened Hongju fortress, Im Deuk-ui assisted the Hongju magistrate Hong Ga-sin in putting down the revolt. For this service he was recorded in 1604 as a third-class meritorious subject for suppressing the rebellion (Cheongnan Gongsin) and was enfeoffed as Lord of Pyeongseong. He later served as Vice Commander of the Chungcheong naval base, and in 1609, the first year of King Gwanghaegun, became Military Commander of Gyeongsang-right Province. His tomb stands on Mount Cheongnyong in Pangyo-ri, Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun. In front of it stands a sindobi, raised in 1917 — a memorial stele set up beside a tomb to commemorate the lifetime achievements of a king or high official — its inscription composed by Jisan Kim Bok-han.
