Jeong Yong-gyun's filial conduct is well documented in the Mojae Silgi and in a petition (sangseomun) addressed to the throne. Moreover, the record of commendation (jeongnyeogi) was written by Kim In-seop, pen name Dangye, a disciple of Heo Jeon, pen name Seongjae, who passed the munkwa, the higher civil service examination, and served as Heonnap in the Saganwon, the Office of the Censor-General. As a contemporary from the same region as the filial son Jeong Yong-gyun, his record can be regarded as thoroughly trustworthy. Furthermore, the site preserves five old documents that reveal the whole process leading to the royal commendation and the subsequent exemption from taxes and corvee labour, giving it value as a piece of cultural heritage material.
