Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThese are woodblocks made to print a collection of writings by Ha Jeung (1563–1624), who went by the pen name Changju. The texts were first published in December 1897 at Obangjae in Jinju using movable wooden type, under the title "Changju seonsaeng yusa" (滄洲先生遺事, "Posthumous Records of Master Changju"), and then in 1939 woodblocks were carved and used to publish the work again under the title "Changju seonsaeng munjip" ("Collected Works of Master Changju"). A total of 63 blocks comprising 107 pages survive, carved with a preface by Jeon U (1841–1922), who went by the pen name Ganjae, and a postface by Song Jong-o (1828–1904). Many books were produced using woodblocks, but few of the woodblocks themselves survive today, making this a valuable resource for understanding traditional publishing culture.
