This is a stone Buddha statue, 160cm tall, standing in the hills of Seungbon-ri, Bomun-myeon, Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. On its head is a clearly defined topknot-shaped hair bun, and although there is slight damage to the nose and ears, the face has a gentle expression. The robe draped over both shoulders shows neat folds in front of the abdomen. The two hands are brought together at the chest holding a medicine bowl, showing that the statue represents Bhaisajyaguru, the Medicine Buddha who delivers all living beings from illness. The pedestal on which the Buddha stands has its lower part buried in the ground, with only the upper part remaining; it is a round stone carved with a lotus pattern. Stylistically, the statue is presumed to be a work from the end of Silla or the beginning of Goryeo.
