Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe Hadong Jeong clan's old house stands within the Gaepyeong-ri hanok village and consists of a main house (anchae), a men's quarters (sarangchae), and a gate quarters (daemunchae). The anchae has a front of six bays and a side of one bay, with a front and rear toet (narrow extension) added, and is roofed with a buseop (lean-to) roof set on a matbae (gabled) base; according to the ridge-beam inscription, it appears to have been built in 1644. The daecheong (main wooden-floored hall), two bays across the front, measures four bays when the toet are included; above the arched main beam (daebolbo) a five-purlin roof frame is set, with a panel-type support post (pandaegong) installed. Neoreum (low board partitions) are fitted at the rear toet, and a storage space resembling a rice chest is set into the rear toet bay next to the large room. The windows and doors are plank doors (panjangmun), and the long floor sill beam connecting the central pillars of the daecheong is joined from three members and fixed with dowel joints.
