Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pavilion was built in 1911 by the clan to honour the achievements and scholarly virtue of Yun U-byeok (1585–1657), and to serve as a place of learning. The gate quarters and the study hall are arranged in a straight line, with the caretaker's house set to the left of the study hall, giving the whole an overall U-shape, enclosed by a wall on the front and sides. The study hall measures four bays across the front and two bays along the side, with a narrow eaves bay (toe) front and back; its rooms run, from left to right, room, wooden-floored hall (daecheong), room, room. Dressed cornerstones were set on a platform of roughly piled stones, and square-sectioned pillars were raised on top. The roof has a three-purlin frame, with a long trapezoidal plank strut set on the main beam to support the ridge purlin, and a subsidiary beam raised over the eaves bay. It has single eaves and a hip-and-gable (paljak) roof, its tile ends finished with eave-end tiles.
