Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThese are three gyoji, royal documents of appointment, granted to Kim Jeong (1426–1493), a civil official of King Seongjong's reign, upon his appointments as Sapo of Saposeo, the Office of the Royal Garden, Magistrate of Indong, and Gyori, among others, in 1475, the sixth year of King Seongjong. Kim Jeong belonged to the Suwon Kim clan. He passed the state examination in 1456, the second year of King Sejo, then served as Sapo of Saposeo in 1475, the sixth year of King Seongjong, as Magistrate of Indong in 1478, the ninth year of King Seongjong, and as Gyori of Seungmunwon, the Office of Diplomatic Documents, in 1493, the twenty-fourth year of King Seongjong. These gyoji are of very great documentary value, given how few fifteenth-century historical documents survive today.
