Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krDusanjeong measures six kan across the front and two kan in depth. To allow larger rooms, a toe bay is set only at the front. Of the four central kan, the left two form a room and the right two form a daecheong (wooden-floored hall), while the outer kan on each side are rooms, each with a naeru (inner loft) at the front. The front half-kan throughout is floored as a toe-maru connecting to the naeru, which is fitted with a flat railing. In the right-hand room the naeru consists only of the toe-maru, but in the left-hand room the room itself was set further back to enlarge the floor. Built-in wall cupboards are set into the rear of every room except the daecheong, and all the floors are umul-maru. The platform is now covered in cement and cannot be seen directly, but it appears to have been built relatively high from natural stones stacked roughly four to five courses, with two three-step stairways at the front. Natural stones serve as cornerstones, and round pillars are used only at the front. Doors were also fitted to the front of the daecheong, so that, viewed from the front, every bay has doors. The roof frame is a three-ryang structure in which a trapezoidal plate-shaped support post set on the main beam, joined to the toe-beam, bears the ridge purlin; it has single eaves and a hapgak (hip-and-gable) roof. The present interior layout of Dusanjeong has been altered. According to a history of Dusanjeong submitted to Hapcheon County by committee member Sim Bong-geun, "at the time of its original construction it had a four-kan floor in the centre used as a hyangjeso, a hall for ancestral rites, with one room on each side; but because the rooms were too small, part of the floor was remodelled in 1934 and rooms were added in the centre (the front two kan), resulting in a partial change to its form." Clear traces of use as a kitchen remain in the left-hand bay, and grooves where other timbers were once fitted can be seen here and there in the pillars and other members, so the left two kan show clear evidence of alteration.
