Uiseong Seogyedang Hall
의성서계당 · 義城西溪堂

This house was built by Nam Yong-jin, the third-generation ancestor of its present owner, Nam Jeong-gu. It is said to have been built around the end of the 1800s, and consists of an anchae, a sarangchae, a gotgan-chae (storehouse), and a mungan-chae (gatehouse). Passing through the main gate there is a spacious outer courtyard, with a straight sarangchae facing south on the north side, and behind it a U-shaped anchae, forming an overall open, square courtyard layout. To the west of the anchae stands a bangatgan-chae (mill house). A three-kan thatched house where servants once lived, and a well, remain within the fence, allowing many traces of old daily life to be seen, which makes the house worth preserving.
