This is an old house in a clan village of the Nam family of Yeongyang. It is estimated to have been built in the early 19th century, making it over 150 years old. It consists of an anchae (main quarters), sarangchae (men's quarters) and mungan-chae (gatehouse), with the sarangchae built higher than the central bay. The roof is a palgak (hipped-and-gabled) roof, resembling the Chinese character for "eight" (八) when viewed from the side, giving it an elaborate appearance that sets it apart in status.
