Myeongbujeon Hall of Muryangsa Temple in Buyeo stands to the east of the front of Geungnakjeon Hall; it enshrines the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha and the Ten Kings of the underworld, and is also known as Jijangjeon Hall. The building stands on a low platform made of natural stone, with round pillars, though the central pillars on the left and right sides and the eave pillars at the rear have a square cross-section. It is three bays wide across the front and two bays deep, with a gable roof; each of the three front bays has a pair of lattice doors, the rear is finished with plank walls, and wind-break boards are fitted on both side walls. It is said to have been built in 1872 by the monk Wonyeol, and the building is in good condition. As a nineteenth-century temple building, Myeongbujeon Hall of Muryangsa Temple is elegant without being crude, and it preserves traditional architectural features well, including an elaborate ikgong bracket style (a form of bracket set beneath the eaves) and plank-timber walls, giving it heritage value.
