Mukjae and Joam were both named Meritorious Subjects of the Restoration for their part in the Injo Restoration of 1623, which deposed King Gwanghaegun and enthroned King Injo; Mukjae was registered as a first-class meritorious subject at the age of 67, and Joam as a second-class meritorious subject at the age of 42. As half-length portraits, they are valuable material for the study of portrait painting in the late Joseon period.
